Mortifactors Lord Executioner

The model that kicked off my Mortifactors project. When the new Space Marine Captains were released, I was impressed by all of the sculpts, but the Lord Executioner model was the one that caught my imagination. His stance is deliberate, strong, but calm. He is a powerful warrior of experience and that’s why I picked him to lead my Mortifactors.

It was my first crack at the Black/Bone/Yellow paint schemethat now haunts my dreams as I work on it more than more, and I liked the look straight away (though my execution of it has improved in the days since). I gave his axe a weathered bronze-coloured look which I really like and, to help tie all of the army together, I’m going to use this for all close combat weapons.

All citadel paints, undercoated black and using the Windsor & Newton Series 7 Sable 000 brush for details.
