Grey Knights Techmarine

I thought I’d share this mini with you because a lot of people seem to like it – including me – though it’s far from my best paint job. It’s based on Forge World’s Astral Claws Master of the Forge, Valthex, which is a great looking mini that I felt slightly guilty about chopping up. I then used a pair of falchions and shoulder pads from the Grey Knights Space Marines Box to replace his whips. There are also details created by using purity seals from that box, and some etched brass too (which turned out to be a lot easier to use than I feared).

I really like the effect that I got on the swords (not bad for someone who doesn’t use an airbrush!) and they run throughout the army. And it was fun to paint the Conversion-Beamer too (which has been a fun tactical addition to the army) using a sort of burnished copper/bronze look. The model was undercoated black, I used Citadel Paints and I used a Da Vinci 0000 brush. Here are a few more shots. Any constructive comments or questions? Add them below. Onwards!
