It has come to my attention that not much of my own work has been appearing on this blog of late and, in a rather unimpressive way, I would like to correct this by showing you a WIP. The members of the Google+ Warhammer 40,000 community asked me to work on a new Mortifactors Contemptor and I wanted to prove that I am obliging, albeit slowly.
As you can see, his kinky boots and not-so-knobbly knees are done, and the legs as a whole are drawing to a close too. I’m still not finding much time to do any painting, but slowly, I’m getting through it. Very slowly.
Much of the paint work is as you’d expect it from my old projects so there’s not a great deal to talk about there. A couple of things to note are that using the Night Lords Contemptor body as a base was a great idea (even if I do say so myself) and it’s been really fun to paint and work on all the little details of it – check out the little bones in the picture above. Secondly, I know the pose looks static, but I have a plan. If I can pull it off, this guy could look awesome. You’ll have to wait and see with that and the arms (which should be the last part of this) will have a big part to play in that.
Well, it ain’t the most triumphant return to the painting pictures, but it’s a solid start for me to work on. There are a couple of bits to fix still and still a great deal more to do, but I’m heading in the right direction and I’m thinking more and more about the Mortifactors again. These are good things and hopefully I’ll have something a little more complete to show you soon. Onwards!
