  1. The duel diorama is fantastic: Excellent idea, excellent execution, and a pretty spectacular paintjob. After looking at the pictures for quite a whiile, though, I have one substantial point that I think would improve the piece: I think the masked face on the Terminator poses a bit of a problem.

Don’t get me wrong, the head itself is a pretty cool bit. Here’s the thing, though: Due to the way the models are posed (not directly facing each other) and due to both models’ faces being masked, I think the confrontation loses a bit of impact: I think an uncovered face for the Terminator would add some emotion to the piece (well, pain, mostly, but still…). By using the masked head, I think the duel feels more clincal, for lack of a better word, than it should be: Some of the spectacular work you’ve put in there just falls flat, mostly because it’s hard to have that “Yeesh, that’s gotta hurt!” moment when you are really only looking at a small hole in the armour and not seeing any kind of emotional response that a bare face would allow for.

Anyway, I hope this makes sense. I realise this is kind of nitpicking. I keep coming back to this point, though, so I thought I’d leave you a comment.

    Anyway, fantastic work! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Thanks for the new pics, those show off things nicely. The star patterned cloth, the spurting blood, etc. Just great work all around!

The weapon and other armor parts on the Terminator look pretty weathered, but the pink armor looks “newer”. I think you said that his equipment os scavenged, so is the rationale that the pink armor bits are newer?

    • Thatโ€™s right. The utilitarian Iron Warriors chainblade juxtaposed to the flamboyant and ceremonial Emperors Children armour. ๐Ÿ™‚
