Mortifactors Vanguard Veteran with Power Sword and Bolt Pistol

I’m over half way! The third of my five Vanguard Veterans is done and on the shelf. This guy is wielding the longer of the power swords that comes in the kit and one of the venerated bolt pistols. You’ll also see another great couple of examples of the shoulder pads you get in this box. The head on the other hand comes from the new tactical squad box and, if I’m being honest, I didn’t quite nail the red lenses on this one. I may even revisit them later and attempt a minor fix.

I’m increasingly convinced that this is the best work I’ve done so far on any infantry models and I’m almost tempted to build up a scenic base and put these guys into a competition. I’m not sure that I’d win but I think they’re good enough to show off at a higher level. I’ve now just got to make sure that the last two members of the squad match the standards I’ve set for myself.

Regardless, here are a couple more pictures for you to enjoy. As with the others, this model was undercoated black, Citadel Paints and the Windsor & Newton Finest Sable Series 7 000 brush was used throughout. Onwards!
