The fourth of my Mortifactors Vanguard Veterans has landed, and boy was he a toughie! Ever had one of those models that just everything goes wrong on? So many things, throughout painting this one seemed to go wrong. Going over edges, not getting my blending right, the point of my brush splitting… it all occurred. If it hadn’t been for the shoulder pads and claws looking quite nice, I wouldn’t have been very happy with this one at all.
Trying to find other plus points… well, there are a few details I like but nothing big. But it sits well in the squad and the overall look of the squad and that’s the most important thing. When the last member is completed, the big, bad Sgt, I’ll get the good camera out and take a couple of snaps of the whole bunch. On that note, he may take a while. I don’t intend to have an extended break from these guys, but I need some time off as I’m getting really sick of painting bone again. Also, I’ve got some interesting plans for the next guy (well, slightly interesting) and I want to do him justice.
Anyway, here are a couple more snaps. This mini was undercoated black, Citadel Paints were used throughout and my trusty Series 7 000 did most of the brushwork.
